The Market square is not merely the town’s geographical centre but also a meeting place for young and old. Its central function is even more in evidence if you pass through the Square on one of the regular market days of the farmers’ markets held here every week and watch the people not just doing their shopping but also having a little chat. The Market Fountain stands in Market Square.
